About Me: I knew at an early age that I wanted to make a career out of writing about games, and now I have. You'll find most of my stuff right here on HonestGamers, of course, but don't be surprised if my name pops up elsewhere. Living out my dream keeps me very busy, and I wouldn't have it any other way! |
So, there are these concerts going around the world, where famous musicians are joining together at large venues to provide concerts that are designed to bring a worldwide eye to the very real issue of global warming.
Musicians are putting aside their differences and pouring their hearts and souls into a common cause that concerns us all, for no reason other than that Earth can't do it for itself.
News coverage has been brutal, with the newscasters never missing an opportunity to point out that there is a lot of criticism because these artists contributed to the problem by traveling.
My opinion to that? Way to miss the fucking point!
Time for a new YouTube video, this one with a little pussy:
I share these things out of love.
Here's a neat YouTube video:

Oh, yeah!
This is a disturbing video, but I know a lot of you go to college still and I felt it important to warn you before you return to another year of danger:

Please do not follow the above link if you are under 18. By clicking on the link, you're basically saying that you're 18 and ready to see disturbing content meant for adults.
This special report will make you think again the next time someone invites you over to 'chill,' and perhaps it will save some of you from humiliation. Perhaps some of you have already fallen victim to the travesty depicted in the video, and if you have, I feel your pain. Well, figuratively. I escaped my college days unscathed. Will you?
For my reference, I'm making a new list of games I don't have yet that I'd like to obtain sometime in the not-so-distant future. I'm actually rather pleased with my current collection, but it does have a few holes I want to fill and this is an easy way to remind myself what those are. It's also a good way for you all to know which games I've been too lazy to buy, if you're curious about such things.
PlayStation 2
Atelier Iris III
.hack//G.U. Vol. 2: Reminisce
Rogue Galaxy
Taito Legends 2
Any games I list above area already available at retail. There are other upcoming games I want that I'll add as appropriate. Thankfully, though, the monster lists of games I want to buy seem to be a thing of the past... at least for now.
Apart from posting a new banner once we have a suitable replacement, it's looking like most of the tweaking for the site's new design is done.
This has really taken a lot out of me, but I'm really happy with the new look.
To celebrate, today I added a feature some of you should like:
Anyone who has 100,000 HG Points no longer will see any of the banners while logged into that account. It also removes the Google links near the bottom center of the site. It's my way of rewarding the most active users, and it applies equally to staff and regular users. Also, the ads won't appear even if you spend your HG Points, so there's no penalty for taking part in the prize drawings that take place from time to time.
As a result of a discussion I had with usurper, I've added some fairly significant tweaks to the site. There are a number of changes throughout a lot of the back end. Specifically, the range of HG Points available for submissions has been made narrower. The submission approval process is also a little bit simpler. Users now receive HG Points when posting on the forums and in their blogs, too. Oh, and I've added some more 'mood' options to the blog. In fact, I nearly doubled the number available. All in all, I've accomplished a lot tonight...
