About Me: Hello. |
Just don't.
The game came out today, so I was curious. I just got through the first five stages and it's a complete joke. The gameplay is absolutely flat and it feels like this was made over one weekend. It feels like a cash grab that plays on people's nostalgia. I'll probably add more after I beat the game.
Edit: I just noticed if you walk all the way to the bottom of the screen, no one can hit you. This is a damn trainwreck.
Edit 2: NO, SERIOUSLY. YOU NEED TO SEE THIS.

I think I'm going to drop this section. I've realized I don't like talking about games I just spent time already talking about in reviews, especially if it's something I finished writing 3 to 4 weeks prior. Also, I don't particularly like writing about games I'm currently in the middle of playing/reviewing, since it, due to past experience, deflates my drive to actually write the review for some reason. Dunno why. At best, I'll talk about a game if I really, really want to mention one.
Think I've been writing this entry on and off for five weeks....
The sections were actually written in the reverse order you see it here, too. I finally tried finishing and cleaning it up as I made final touches to my recent review. I dunno why it takes me so long to push these out when I actually have stuff to talk about.

I played and reviewed a bit of games since my last blog entry, so I really only want to comment on a few.
Because I made the last one in March and forgot I tried making it a thing.
-First one, for those curious.
-A new Wonder Boy game, called Wonder Boy Returns, was released a few days ago on Steam. It looks and sounds awful.
-On discovering that a new Wonder Boy game came out, I found out there's also a remake of Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap in the works. Additional gameplay footage. At first, I thought it was that Monster Boy spiritual successor that was just renamed into Dragon's Trap, but nope, it's its own thing.
I wonder what show type I'm going to talk about?
Thought I wouldn't have much to talk about this time outside the usual Gundam stuff, but a certain game proved me otherwise.

Interlude to ∀ got a little longer...
Been about two months since I did one of these, so figured I would crank another one out before I completely lose these thoughts.

That has nothing to do with this blog entry. I just wanted to remind people.
But seriously, that actually happened.

Escape Close Call: How is it possible to screw up a concept this simple? With all the unnecessary things tacked on to the game, it makes me wonder how much effort was really put into the core; the three city maps are really, really small to the point where you can't be creative driving around the environments if you tried. If you're going to draw inspiration from another game, which this title does in the credits, make sure it's not an equally-awful iOS game with the same assets and concept.
