Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus review (Vita)

Reviewed October 20, 2014

Zachary Walton says: "I went into Shinovi Versus as an established fan of the Senran Kagura license. For outsiders, the game may look like nothing more than egregious fanservice, but I can promise you that there’s a great hack-n-slash game underneath the risque surface."

Joseph Shaffer @JoeTheDestroyer
@Suskie Sorry, Mike. I feel responsible for kickstarting this one.

@joseph_valencia @overdrive I finally bought some rechargeable ones, but I haven't yet used them, because the Ultimate Lithium ones I used from Energizer seem to last dozens of hours in Wii Remotes.
Joseph Valencia @joseph_valencia
@overdrive Hm. Maybe I'll try that Xenoblade sequel when it hits Wii U. I really wish the Wii U would let players use the gamepad for Wii backwards compatibility. Having to stock batteries for Wii games is annoying.
Rob Hamilton @overdrive
@EmP Oh yeah, that's where I'm at with a couple things I'm playing. Like Xenoblade Chronicles, which is a superior version of FF XII, and so far, the most fun I've had with a JRPG in an eternity or two.
Gary Hartley @EmP
@Suskie @joseph_valencia I've seen some reviews gleefully slaughtering An Evil Within just as much as I've seen others christen it a genre rebirth. Still resisting.

//new line of thought. For a lot of reasons, caring about games right now is a sucky place to be. So the new Dreamfall dropping and me filling with squealing fanboyish glee is a point blank godsend.
Gary Hartley @EmP
Thing is, GamerGate's been in the works for a long time. It was always going to happen as consumers got further and further shat upon by a sneering media throwing their audience under the bus for the sake of an audience that doesn't exist.
Gary Hartley @EmP
@overdrive @joseph @Ben Just going to put out there that by far my favourite thing about gamergate is seeing what seemingly random slur they're going to be hit with next. Misogynists, status-quo lovers, 85% bots, ISIS/Nazi supporters, AAA apologists, etc
Rob Hamilton @overdrive
@joseph @Ben And that's (the "fun hobby" part) the same for most, I'd think, which makes a certain few peoples' open contempt for that mindset as bizarrely hilarious. Such as the "CoD dudebro" labeling of people who aren't about the srz bizness aspects.
Rob Hamilton @overdrive
@joseph @Ben to auto-ignore any criticism of them while arbitrarily appointing themselves as the crusaders of all that is good. For me, gaming is a fun hobby that's become somewhat more than a hobby with all the writing/reviews I've done (next)
