why are all the reviewers now at war with each other?
Only a week on from my Wii Fit review, comes Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga, for that Magical Mystery Tournament. It's been a while since I actually participated in a tournament on the reviewing end. Though I never would've made it if not for the gracious extensions. My 360 sure picked a fine time to die. Got it back just in time to finish up the game, explore some more of the game modes, and put my review together.
2009 is looking like my comeback year. I'm going to aim to have 12 reviews written by the end of the year. 3 down!
Or, rather, second Wii game bashing written straight into the submission box. Today's victim : Wii Fit. I still need to write that Lego Star Wars review, but I'm kinda stuck until I get my 360 back. =/
I've never been able to review this game, even when I actually wrote reviews on a regular basis. Yes, I did write reviews on a regular basis. But Final Fantasy IX eluded me. I couldn't find words for it.
I have to admit, I'm still having trouble. And I need to review this thing in the next few days for the little contest I'm involved in.
I wrote a few notes, and now I need to try and expand it into a review. I'm using this blog as a template, since it's much like the review submission box. I can't write this stuff in Microsoft Word or Notepad, because for some reason my brain shuts down.
I have the first line of my review.
"Final Fantasy IX was never going to please everyone."
A licenced game. You know, I'd been meaning to buy Lego Star Wars for quite some time. Today, I found it in the bargain bin for $30 new (from $89.95 AUD). So, 30% of the original price. Not bad, huh? I was almost going to pay $45 for a second hand copy. Glad I didn't. This is Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga, on the 360.
I'm enjoying this game so far. Reminds me of when I was a kid, how I'd play with Lego. I'm sure I will be able to play enough of this game over the month to be able to review it in time. Especially if I talk about the game to people, then save what I say.
Also, I think I should get double bonus points for a game that uses TWO licences. Wait, make that 4 times! Because it's two games, Lego Star Wars and Lego Star Wars II. >_>
Damn, I'm good.
I actually wrote a review. It's more of a whinge, though, written directly into the submission box, fuelled entirely by my own disappointment at the game. I need to trade it in before it loses any more value. God, that game leaves a bitter taste. I only paid half price for it, and I still felt ripped off. I want my money back.
I did get one thing out of it, though. A review. It's... quite an important moment for me.
This is just rambling stuff I've written about my experience playing the original Zelda. I had enough Wii Points to download this one after that XMAS REVIEWS topic.

The familiar Zelda overworld theme plays. I am walking around on sand, destroying countless red circular enemies that shoot balls at me. I continually get hit, and I'm finding the whole experience rather frustrating.
My sister walks in, looks at the television, and asks "What console are you playing?" I explain that it's the Wii, and I've used it to download the original Zelda.
"When was this game made?" she asks.
"1987 I think"
