Spider-Man 3 Stuff
November 10, 2006

Let's see, let's see, what's happening in the world today. Democrats took the Senate and the House. Some say it's the beginning of a new era, some say it's a sign of the Apocalypse. 'Rummy' got the pink slip; thought he sucked and deserved it, but eh. Oh, K-Fed and Britney split up. All of zero people were surprised. Less cared.

Good thing I care about important stuff, like comic book movies.

Specifically Spider-Man 3, of which a trailer was released...Thursday, I think. Haven't had the time to check it out, but I did find some scans of the three major villains. Some thoughts...

Whoops, that's Megatron from the upcoming Transformer movie. My bad. While he's here, I'd like to say how this design, well...I won't say it sucks, it just...doesn't look anything at all like Megatron. Or any Transformer, for that matter. Makes me quite wary of the movie, but I'll remain optimistic. At least he doesn't transform into a gun; always thought that was stupid.

That's Venom. Not a whole lot to say about his rendition; don't like the vague webs around his feet and arms, but otherwise he's close enough to the original. I STILL think he'll just pop up at the end of the movie and be saved for a big role in Spidey 3. But...after watching X-Men 3, I get bad feelings. Why does everything have to be in trilogies these days? It's like everyone thinks they're George Lucas or something, like there's some incredible need to have a box set. I'd rather have two movies with plots that take their time and spread things out instead of one movie that just crams.

This is the Sandman. Absolutely NOTHING to say here; he looks exactly like he's always looked...which is a little odd, considering Sandman's look is a little dated. Surprised they didn't 'update' it. Pleasantly surprised. Unfortunately that pleasantness does last long, as I'm introduced to the NEW GREEN GOBLIN...

Jesus Christ Sweet Lord in Heaven.

I mean...what? What is that? In the last movie, Harry got access to all his dad's stuff. The Glider, the serum, the bombs, everything. So how did he go from the first movie Goblin - who looked lame, but not that lame - to THIS? He's on a surfboard snowboard, for crying out loud.

Oye. Maybe they'll change it.

Doubt it.

I just thought I'd post to tell you that I love you.

Let's go to Tunisia for the honeymoon.

Those are prototype designs, so there's a small chance those character will look different in the films.

After seeing the last trailer, I'm really starting to think that Venom is going to be more of a 'Spider-Man 4' character. The plot is just so focused on Sandman and GG2 that I don't see how they could cram Venom into the movie without ruining the balance of the story. He isn't appearing in a lot of the promotional material either, which leads me to believe that Venom isn't going to have that big of a role in part three.

That looks more like a snowboard.

Those designs are lame; I hope they improve them by the time the movie comes out. I sure hope it doesn't flop, but I'm betting that it turns out to be great.

I have complete faith in Raimi. He made Evil Dead and is thus a form of God.

The last two Spiderman films have worked brilliantly, and so will this one. Optimism is rare in camp EmP, and it will not be shaken!

It was strange. I had went to see Phantom of the Opera with no foreknowledge that scenes were to be filmed. When I got out, a marquee had been replaced with a fake one called "Manhattan Memories" and it listed Mary Jane Watson as a star.

I tried to leave, but I just couldn't get out of there. It was too crowded, and most routes were blocked off. So I watched for a while. I saw Tobey McGuire and that guy who plays his friend, but that was pretty much all of it.

I have a few crappy pictures if anyone is interested. They are crappy because all I had avaiable at the time was the camera on my cell phone.

m0zart: You saw Phantom of the Opera on Broadway? Bitch.

lasthero: Why do I get a sense of forbodeing? I mean, the third X-Men movie sucked, why can't the third Spidey movie suck? Suckiness is an infectious disease.

The character designs do indeed suck. Megatron doesn't look like himself at all; he usually has some sort of purple on his armor. (Is that supposed to insinuate something? o.0) But, the voice actors are the same, so I really won't care. I just want to see the long-awaited Transformers movie.

Now, for Spidey. I'm not surprised by the fact that GG2 and Sandman look crappy. Then again, I don't particularly like Marvel that much, so whatever. Venom looks okay; pretty much like he always does.

PS: "Bang Bang" is a nifty song. I have it on my "Ultimate Mix" with everything else that rocks.

I just saw a trailer for Spider-Man 3. NOW I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE IT! :D

Megatron looks....futuristic, Sandman looks alright. Just the way he looked originaly. I like the fact that he has his trademark striped shirt. I do wonder for what Sandman they will go. The "dumb as a brick" character who doesn't know the potential of his powers which can pretty much place him up with top tier characters of Marvel, or as a misunderstood villain that reforms near the end.

GG looks like something out of a pokemon video game. He even has poke balls in those stills.

I choose you, Pikachu!!!

Spider-Man 3 was horrible. :(

I laughed at how rushed the whole Venom plot-line was begun and then concluded.

Bullshit.

I heard, though, that Sam Raimi was pissed off that Sony wanted his inclusion in the movie. That wins him even more points.
