About Me:

My name's Rob. I'm insane, but not in a criminal way. At least, not yet. Take the character of Spicoli from Fast Times at Ridgemont High, make him older and chubbier...and you pretty much know all you need to know about me.

The Winnowing Continues
October 17, 2017

Since I last updated my progress, I've beaten a few games in Bravely Default, Etrian Odyssey Untold: Millennium Girl, Journey to Kreisia, Kirby's Epic Yarn and Rayman Legends. My review is up for BD, it'll be up for Kreisia whenever a certain SOMEONE gets to it in the queue, I'm working on my review for Kirby's Epic Yarn (the ever-so-beloved part where I scrap 5 paragraphs and start over because my current tactic is sucking big-time) and then I'll pound out the review for Rayman Legends.

The Winnowing: Part II
September 12, 2017

On one hand, you could say I'm 3/4 of the way there, as my plan is to have one game that I currently play in each of these four groups: 360, Android (ie: my Kemco niche), ROM and other system (ie: PS/PS2, 3DS/DS, Wii, Steam). And I have one game in each of the first three groups! On the other hand, in that "other system" group, I still need to narrow it down from 6 games to 1, so, yeah, there's a little bit of work I still have to do...

So, where am I?

XBOX 360: Rayman Legends -- the main goal is to start the Dark Souls games, but I didn't want to deal with something that work-intensive while trying to finish a bunch of other games, so I decided to work with this one. Which was a good decision, as this game is really awesome with a lot of cool features.

Progress report for the last eternity.
July 13, 2017

As time goes on, I've gotten the impression that my madcap "have close to a dozen gaming projects going on at once" strategy isn't working. Every game takes time away from the others, so I might have a game I'm completely into, but taking time away from it to make progress on a half-dozen others.

Guess what! I remember to update progress again!
December 22, 2016

So, I'm currently working on my Silver Nornir review (another Kemco game). When that's done, I'll have Minelvaton Saga (absolutely horrid Famicom action RPG), Avernum: Escape from the Pit (really sweet Steam RPG) and Mass Effect (really good intro to really great series) to write, as my gaming productivity has been greater than my writing productivity. Oh, I have to post my Super Mario All-Stars review. I'll try to get that done after I'm done with this.

So, by system, here's what's on my agenda at the moment:

Another update, of sorts
July 15, 2016

Games I'm playing, at least most of them. As I've been having my usual summer struggles with motivation, since when the weather's nice, I don't tend to get into gaming and recreational writing to the degree I do when I'm in the middle of a frozen tundra or torrential downpour. Which is why the vast majority of what I've written about are those short Kemco RPGs that don't take a great deal of effort to get through.

A question for Mass Effect players
April 01, 2016

Right now on my 360, I'm going through Diablo 3. After I finish the Reaper of Souls chapter and mess around with Adventure Mode until I've gotten bored with it, I'm thinking about moving on to at least starting the Mass Effect Trilogy. Perhaps doing all three back-to-back-to-back, perhaps not.

Anyway, I have the collection with all three packaged in one container and from what I gather, this does not include DLC.
