The time has come for Steins;Gate Re:Boot to launch

It's here with a Gamma World-line you didn't see in the original.

Spike Chunsoft announced yesterday that Steins;Gate Re:Boot is now available to purchase on most console platforms. The game is a remake of the 2009 original from Nitro Plus, this time developed by the team at Mages.

Steins;Gate Re:Boot is now available on Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. A PC version released previously. The new game features reworked visuals, as well as a new route called Gamma World-line. The press release indicates that in this version of events, the time machine was never completed. D-Mails do not exist.

Steins;Gate Re:Boot is available in a SteelBook edition for Switch 2, Switch, and PlayStation 5, with a sticker for those who invest in a first-run copy. There's also a digital deluxe edition for most versions, which boasts the following:

  • Steins;Gate Re:Boot game

  • Visual Collection digital art book

  • Soundtrack

  • Steins;Gate 15th Live One World live event footage (English subtitles)

  • Steins;Gate Octet of Shifting Space game

There's no reference anywhere in the press release to those perks coming to the Xbox Series X|S for some reason, but at least it is available on those platforms, so that's something.

The press release also included a few important notes. First, physical editions of Steins;Gate Re:Boot will not hit Europe until November 3, 2026. Digital ones are available right now.

More importantly, Spike Chunsoft advises all players to install all patches before playing the game. Apparently, installing patches later will delete all save data. It's something to keep in mind before you start playing.

We haven't had time with the new game yet, but if you're curious, we do have a review for the Vita version posted. Check it out for more information about whether the reboot might interest you.
