Look Outside dares players to do what its title says, this time on consoles

Game titles don't always give great advice.

Key art shows a concerned looking hero looking to his left as he holds a gun pointed toward the ground to his left. He is surrounded by oversized mouths with many teeth.

Look Outside, the survival horror RPG that released to glowing reviews on PC, is now available to buy and enjoy on a variety of consoles, publisher Devolver Digital announced today in a press release. That's one day before Halloween, which seems only fitting.

Apparently, Look Outside is a turn-based RPG set in a single apartment building. Players explore its hallways in search of food, supplies, and weapons. The monsters they face were once their neighbors, who now have a lot more (or perhaps less?) on their minds than loud music after 10PM.

After a successful supply run, players can recover by playing games, making dinner, and crafting tools. They might also bring back friends, who they will get to know during moments of brief respite. Then it's time for another sojourn in the darkness.

One unnamed critic apparently described Look Outside as "one of the scariest games I've ever played," which is quite the feat for what appears to be a turn-based RPG. It has at various times been described with non-glowing adjectives like "disturbing" and "grotesque," which are just the words people like when the subject is horror games.

Look Outside is available for Switch, Switch 2, PS4, and PS5, joining 2025's PC edition. It features two PC updates, 1.5 and Final Vision, making right now the perfect time to get to know what sounds like one of the more unusual RPGs released in recent years. And at $9.99 USD, the price is even right.
