"Our 40-ish hours of game time went by on fast-forward. We often forgot to eat, and we begrudged bathroom breaks. Games this captivating don't come along often. Between its engrossing story, ginormous world, well-crafted RPG side and white-knuckle FPS combat, Fallout 3 completely, utterly gives you your $60 worth."
10/10 - Official X-Box Magazine USA
Basically: thank fuck for that.

Pretty consistently decent, to be honest, though 81 is much lower than I'd have expected any major mag to give it. General concensus seems to be: as long as you don't spend all your time comparing it with the other two, and treat it as a new game in its own right, then it's ace.

I'll definitely get the PC version but don't know when I'll get to it. I still have to play Mass Effect and a million other games first

Wii has a growing library of compelling games that people merrily ignore on these and other blogs and forums, games that are just plain enjoyable without being intimidating (or even particularly deep).
Some people want and enjoy those kind of games, and don't have to play slop like High School Musical 3 to appreciate Wii. My library of Wii games is already building into something pretty special, and it's doing so without a particularly huge assortment of the 'mini-game fests' and 'shovelware' and 'low-quality ports' that people say are the only thing the system offers.
Anyway, your snipe at Wii is both ill-informed and irrelevant, since we're here to talk about Fallout 3... which looks pretty great.
I will probably pick up Fallout 3 myself, eventually... when the price drops and I have more money and such. I hope to play it someday, but I won't be reviewing it or anything like that because it's one of those games where I just don't have a sufficient background experience with the classics... or time to play this newest one in the near future.

I've always preferred the Japanese style of video game design over the American and European ones, so right there is a HUGE reason I would be interested in Wii. Aside from the Xbox 360 with its string of RPGs that Microsoft is financing to appeal to the Japanese, there's not a whole lot of the gaming I like on the Xbox 360 (or if there is, it's also available on the PlayStation 3, which has more exclusives I care about).
Now, I know that a lot of the games I don't care a whole lot about, or that I prefer to take alongside some Japanese-style games, are all that American and European gamers care about playing. That's fine. I don't ask them to say "Oh, Wii is great," because obviously Wii was very much not designed with them in mind.
At the same time, I'm pretty damn sick of hearing comments about how as a Wii fan, I must be wetting my pants looking forward to Mini-Games 3: The Second Sequel or whatever. There's a hell of a lot more to the system than just that stuff. It's not the stuff making headlines with huge sales, but it's definitely there and it is kickass.
So yeah, your taste in games is such that (from what I can tell) Wii offers little or nothing for you. I'm cool with that. I'm just running out of patience for the ridiculous generalizations like what Genj posted. Not necessarily because of him, but because there are so many ignorant people out there who say that crap and actually think it's true.
It's not.

Not cool enough to finish, but cool nonetheless.
