Halloween reviews update

As I mentioned before, my old hard drive had to be reformatted because one of the partitions became corrupt. I also mentioned that some of my reviews were lost during this event, and a few of them were for movies I planned on reviewing this year. It's been a while since I've seen those movies, and I honestly don't entertain the possibility of watching any of them again any time soon. Besides, it's not like they were classics or anything... The replacements are shown below:

DID YOU KNOW that a new Alone in the Dark is due to be released on Steam soon. It's gone super under the radar.

I've owned Cold Fear for ever but have played not a second of it. I've no idea what I'll do for Halloween this year as I've turned my back on Silent Hill forever. Forever!

Losing stuff you've written due to failing computers sucks, Joe, and it has happened to me. There are a few novel-length manuscripts I wrote that are gone forever, as well as some short stories. You may have seen me posting about that on Facebook. To keep that sort of thing from happening again, I've taken to using Dropbox for important written stuff such as my fiction. The free version gives you enough space to hold all of your written material and maybe some important photos too, and I pay $9.99/month on top of that for a full TB of storage that I can use for all sorts of stuff and access from any of my devices. For all of you writer types, I definitely recommend Dropbox (which even lets you share folders with others for collaborative projects) to avoid the worst tragedies that come from failing hard drives and such. Here's my affiliate link, which scores me extra free space if anyone signs up: https://db.tt/Y4uOfn7Z. Like I said, I use it myself and I recommend it.

Audition is one of the most overrated horror films of all time. A near two hour film that's predominantly a lot of slow, boring build up. The pay off at the end is pretty great, but the whole first 90 minutes are barely watchable. House by the Cemetery is my favorite Fulci film

EmP:
At this point, that might not be a bad idea, but I'm willing to give Silent Hills a try, especially if P.T. is as good as they say it is.

Jason:
Dropbox! I was trying to remember what the name of that app was. Although I've turned my old hard drive into an external one, which I'm currently using as a backup, I wouldn't mind getting a free Dropbox account so I can at very least keep my backlog on there. Going back through all of the games I needed to finish/give up on was a pain.

Genj:
I've always felt that Audition was pretty overrated, despite liking it. I think more than anything the movie was overhyped by people like Rob Zombie and John Landis, especially the latter for basically saying the movie was unbearably brutal. I can stand the movie, though, because I don't mind horror films with long build ups if the payoff is at least decent. Just the same, I have a hard time getting through the first two hours, and I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels that way.

As far as House by the Cemetery goes, I love it. Then again, I dig most things Fulci, even some of his '90s efforts. I think my favorite is still City of the Living Dead, mainly because that was my first Fulci movie.

Yeah, Joe. I back things up on a thumb drive, on my web server, sometimes on an external HD, and on Dropbox. If my apartment were to burn down, it's nice to know I still have digital copies of things that are important to me saved in other locations. Anyway, thanks for signing up and I hope the service works as well for you as it has for me so far!

No love for Google Drive? 15gb free and you already are signed up for it if you have Gmail.

Ack! My clumsy thumb took out EmP's comment!
