The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is available to buy at retail once again, courtesy of Nintendo's recent remake for Switch 2. Nintendo announced the news in a press release this morning, just in case there remained one person in the world who didn't already know about the event.
For years now, Nintendo fans have wished Nintendo would revisit the original game, which according to its average Metacritic score is the best game ever made. I liked it a lot, but not as much as some people, for whom it was a utterly transformative experience. A lot of today's loudest Nintendo fans were young children when the game initially released, so that makes sense.
Nintendo revealed the remake in a trailer earlier this year, ending the need for hobbyist developers to build an adventure of their own using the Unreal engine. Feelings were mixed at the time of the initial reveal, with some folks jumping at the opportunity to make fun of the character design (and other things). But a lot of that seems to have died down more recently, and the game currently enjoys a very impressive average rating of 96/100 on Metacritic after more than 80 reviews.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is currently available to order from online merchants, but I suggest being careful about which one you choose. I myself preordered it from one major retailer named after a river, but yesterday I received word that I shouldn't expect my copy to arrive until November 11, most of a week after its release.

Are you looking to add Ocarina of Time to your collection? You might have the most luck looking for a copy at your favorite local store, if it hasn't already sold out by now. And there's also the digital version for $59.99 USD on the eShop, if you absolutely can't wait.
Me, I'll be over here watching my mailbox. It's prettiest in the mornings, with a thin layer of frost resting on it.
