JoeTheDestroyer's Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster review

First review of this game that did rag on the front choice for the English version!

I'm with you on this. This version seems superfluous without some options to customize the difficulty and experience. This game was never well balanced (to survive random encounters in the original, you needed to be strong enough to maul bosses anyway). Seeing the pixel remasters coming out around the same time that the Live a Live remake was announced and released made the pixel remasters look lazy in comparison to me.

All is forgiven though by the remixed music. They went really hard on the sound, at least.

I honestly wasn't all that bothered by the font. And really, it's such small potatoes in the grand scheme of things. I guess I can understand why some are annoyed by it, but I think the balancing and lack of options kill the mood more than anything. Whatever, the PlayStation version remains my favorite overall, though this one arguably has the best soundtrack.
