About Me: Sorry, but I haven't yet shared the information about myself that would typically display here. Check back later to see if that changes, or if I instead choose to remain an enigma. |
*Including my old Playstation games as well.
I don't know what to cover next. There's still San Andreas, DMC 1 & 2, Rachet and Clank, MMX 7 & 8 and the Jak & Daxter series to take on. I'm trying to hold off on RPGs because I don't enjoy the genre nearly as much as others. I'm only on like the second battle in Disgaea, and I'm already tired of it. >.<
Anyone know any other good PS2 action or stealth games that are easy to pick up and play?
I didn't think CJayC's 'Featured Reviewers' idea would create such a backlash. =/
After a bit of delay, the Bash Contest results were finally posted today. I don't know if I should be surprised or not; I figured Emp and Ashy would probably beat the **** out of me, but I was amazed that I got third place. That From Russia With Love review was a last minute choice because none of my other bash reviews could fit with the contest's stipulations. Hopefully I'll have more time to prepare the next time a contest starts up there.
This weekend, I decided to see how many reviews I could do for the SF series. I had originally intended to make it all the way through Street Fighter III or possibly the SFA Anthology, but I burned out after taking on all of the PS1 Alpha series and the SFII games on the SNES. Maybe next weekend...
It's the night before the Gamespot Bash Review Contest results are announced. To be perfectly honest, I don't think I stand a chance. There are plenty of good writers that I've never seen before, as well as a few familiar faces among the contenders. At least it'll make for a good learning experience...*Crosses fingers*
I wasted far too many hours this weekend mindlessly drooling over programs about Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, and anyone else remotely associated with the American Revolution. I've got a soft spot for history, apparently. At least I balanced it out with a few baseball games, several overcooked hamburgers, and a little birthday celebration for my uncle at Chevy's. Damn, it feels good to be lazy once in a while.
As most of you probably don't know, I'm an Ops Sup/Senior Teller at one of the major banks here in the city. I've worked with this same company since I was only a 16 year-old kid with an internship, and have worked mainly part time to pay for my college expenses ever since. Five years later, I'm in charge of showing the ropes to my third teller team. Since it's the summer, I've gone back to working full time to earn enough cash to survive another year at Cal State. My new staff is comprised of four of the newest, fresh-out-of-teller school newbies out there. They're still making plenty of mistakes and get easily intimidated and confused, but they're learning how things run. Hopefully they'll be ready to face things by themselves when I go back to school in the fall.
I'm glad that its combo system was an improvement over SFA, but I shouldn't be able to get two consecutive perfect victories on Bison by just randomly mashing buttons. At least Street Fighter Alpha Anthology has SFA3 to keep things interesting.
Now that the quarter is over, I'm taking the summer off and going back to working full time. That means I won't get the chance to get to a game store until sometime around September. Accordingly, I decided to take advantage of Gamestop's "Buy 2 Used Get 1 Free" Sale and some store credit I had leftover. I managed to find:
Shadow of the Colossus
Magic Pengel
Vagrant Story
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Deus Ex
Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal
Metal Gear Solid
Yeah, I'm going to be busy.
