Working Stiff Blues
June 28, 2006

As most of you probably don't know, I'm an Ops Sup/Senior Teller at one of the major banks here in the city. I've worked with this same company since I was only a 16 year-old kid with an internship, and have worked mainly part time to pay for my college expenses ever since. Five years later, I'm in charge of showing the ropes to my third teller team. Since it's the summer, I've gone back to working full time to earn enough cash to survive another year at Cal State. My new staff is comprised of four of the newest, fresh-out-of-teller school newbies out there. They're still making plenty of mistakes and get easily intimidated and confused, but they're learning how things run. Hopefully they'll be ready to face things by themselves when I go back to school in the fall.

So, I'm doing hands-on training with four tellers at once. That's on top of all the other stuff I have to keep in check. Accordingly, I don't have nearly as much time to review as I used to. I've thought about signing up for the Team Tournament, but I think that I won't be around much to support my team due to work. Besides, I don't think my reviews are quite on par with what's required to secure my team a victory.I've still got both the GF and HG Bash Contests to worry about as well. Maybe I'm better off just sitting out on the Team Tournament...

I've gotten 270 reviews up on GF. My goal is to make it up to 300 before school starts again. I'm currently halfway through a Guilty Gear X review that will hopefully turn out good. I thought I'd commemorate the event by reviewing one of the following:

Disgaea
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Oregon Trail
Eternal Darkness
Perfect Dark
8-Part MMX series reviewing spree
Every Street Fighter game in my collection

It's still far off, but there's nothing wrong with dreaming.

Have your tellers review Oregon Trial for you. And tell them that if the don't, they'll get cholera and dyssentery (or however that's spelled).

If you review Oregon Trail, please talk about how the oxen always die when fording a river. I didn't mention that in mine. Probably should...

If you plan ahead and buy 20 wagon axels, they all get stolen.
