About Me: Sorry, but I haven't yet shared the information about myself that would typically display here. Check back later to see if that changes, or if I instead choose to remain an enigma. |
You'd think that Gamefaqs should list all the unlockable content in D/P past the Elite 4, but the folks in charge rejected all the codes/secrets I submitted. I took my argument here:

If these people seriously speak for Sailor Bacon, I worry about Gamefaqs' future as an informational gaming site. The design of the current codes/secrets submission system is a disservice to its users.
And I quote from the topic:
doublexp/idiotic defender of flawed system:
I love the new Pokemon game. I don't give a **** about the new critters, but the massive new region, expanded movelists, and all the little extras are great. And the online stuff is damned awesome. It actually made me run my DS's batteries out, which is pretty rare. Now I actually have a great reason to keep playing my DS.
Whoa, it's been over a month since I last posted here. Time for an update:
I had someone stand in line to purchase one about a month back, but never got the opportunity to pick it up until this weekend. So far, I have:
Wii Sports
Twilight Princess
Metal Slug Anthology
DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 2
Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz
I haven't reviewed anything for about a week now. This is mainly due to confidence issues in terms of my writing. I've been second guessing myself a lot (especially with the last two reviews) and it was a nerve wracking experience. I tried following Venter's and Pup's advice, but it made things more problematic. I think I'm stuck in a reviewing rut or something. And yes, I'm well aware that it's holding me back.
Too bad the last few have been kinda sucky. Maybe I'm just in a slump right now...Anyway, here's a response to Venter in case no one reads the Feedback topics:
I regularly enjoy your reviews, Disco. They're very good, but I often find myself thinking that with a little bit more work, they could really be something special. That's surprising, considering the frequency with which you post new ones. Most writers would let their reviews become cookie-cutter while maintaining a pace like yours, but you don't seem to be going that direction.
Those bastards.
I've already finished with the first set of races (the dinosaur-themed tracks) and I've noticed that the game lacks the kind of more precise handling found in Mario Kart DS. The balloon-popping mini-game missions are poorly crafted; the emphasis on the Touch Screen could have been better spent on rounding out the controls instead of this awkward setup. I can't give this more than a 5 if the entire game is like this.
Dammit. Now I want to get my N64 out and play the original (aka vastly superior) version. Bleh.
The Game Gear titles, at least.I'm not satisfied with them, but there wasn't a lot to work with for the most part. =/
