I'm Ultimately Going To Regret This

By Greg Knoll · March 31, 2011

Admitting this, I mean.

I'm actually kind of excited for this. Well, no, really excited.

I grew up with this show, and it was my favorite for many years. Sure it was campy, the production value was low and Snarf was the most irritating character ever next to Jar Jar Binks but it was still great. And there's a sort of nostalgic draw to it...reminds me of when I was a kid.

I get the odd feeling that Jason is with me on this one. Just a guess.

I probably would be with you, but Thundercats was almost never available on any stations that we received during the years when I actually got television. I caught a few episodes and always enjoyed it when it was on, but I wasn't able to follow it regularly.

You know, I would not object to watching that.

I used to watch Thundercats. If it is coming back I'll probably watch some of them.

I found Thundercats way too ponderous. I remember making fun of in high school, but I was well older than the target audience at that point.

There were two main things that aggravated me, but which were fun to imitate to your friends:

1. Mumra spoke so slowly, I could barely stand to wait for him to finish another crappy sentence.

'I aaaaaam....... Mum - Raaaaaa...... the Dreeeeeeeeam Maaaaaaaaaaaster!'

2. And of course, Snarf.

I also played the Thundercats game on the Amiga. I remember commentating, 'This is supposed to be the end of level confrontation, and it consists of one low-flying duck.' And my friend told me how cynical I was.

Doesn't look too terrible except Cheetara looks like she is just about to do anything you want for crack.

Oh, and I missed Panthro, he was always the most awesome of the bunch, even though he looks like Jet Black's identical twin in this.
