Now I'm on Campfire. |
I just won't give up. Hey, wait. That's good news. Who says that we don't need editors? We do, of course, to learn from. They also have their pulse on things we don't get with our heads in the clouds and fingers on keys.
My Super Mario Wonder review is the product of some good feedback from a skilled, professional editor and Hemmingway - the web app. See, it turns out that post-graduate writing and the average reader don't mix. Better to save that for my school essays. Which, by the way, I'm about a little over a year from graduating. Yay! (I mean that.)

Oh yes. That teaser. I have edited and republished a rather old novel up on Campfire and it's getting some attention. That's nice. It's encouraging not to be swamped but it's also daunting to have to fit my work into a larger bucket. Oh, I'll get there, in time. I have plenty of material.
As a gamer I'm not doing all that much. Probably playing too much BloonsTD 6. I can get up to level 100 in a short stretch, but beating it would be a lifetime pursuit. I'm just not into the C.H.I.M.P. style of high end play. (That's no bonuses or extra powerups).
I may well dig up some games I've played and review those. Some of my most well read reviews are the ones I enjoyed the least, which is not a good trend. Am I really saving people suffering? Gotta wonder.

honestgamer - February 28, 2024 (03:29 PM) Any time we write, we need to keep our audience well in mind. The definition of "good" writing changes, depending on who we are trying to reach and entertain or inform or inspire. We can learn a lot from writing about video games that translates to other disciplines. Congratulations on your continuing educational journey! |

hastypixels - March 19, 2024 (02:49 PM) Tell me about it. Joining this website was one of the most uncomfortable and best decisions I have made as a writer. Your input, in particular, has contributed significantly to my skill. I am certainly a more read-writer because of it. Which, by the way, I'm still working on. Just because Campfire threw open the door doesn't mean I shouldn't be aiming higher. |
