About Me:

Sorry, but I haven't yet shared the information about myself that would typically display here. Check back later to see if that changes, or if I instead choose to remain an enigma.

Oh wow.
January 13, 2008

It's been almost three weeks since I've posted here. Time really does fly, I guess. Haven't had much time between work being hell, my mom being gone for a business trip (leaving me to nursemaid my father, who recently had surgery) and a host of other things. Blargh. So, the long and short of it - despite my arm being screwed up (therapist thinks it's repetitive stress syndrome) I've managed to get in quite a bit of time on the Wii. Mario Galaxy is a blast but it's been frustrating me quite regularly - but today I seemed to be on a roll and claimed quite a few Power Stars and a Grand Star before finishing up a bit ago. Bought a few Virtual Console games (is there any way to show those on the game collection, guys?) so I was messing around with Super Metroid earlier.

Wii - first impressions.
December 24, 2007

It's still a little hard to get used to holding the controller and pointing at the screen (Mario bitched at me quite a bit for dropping the remote so it wasn't pointing at the screen anymore) but I can safely conclude this was a sound investment.

The hubby spent over 2 hours on Metroid Prime 3, refusing to even stop for dinner (until he got lost on the way back to the control room and the station blew up :P). I spent over 2 hours on Mario Galaxy and would've kept going, only I'm tired, and I'm cooking at Mom's tomorrow so I need to go to bed. (Time for some Tales of Eternia before bed, I think.) We made Miis for both of us and I made an extra for Mom, since she said she wants to come try the bowling out. :D

Wii Spree!
December 23, 2007

With less than 24 hours remaining until my Wii arrives (I've been tracking it, and our delivery guy usually dumps our stuff off around 2pm), I'm getting more and more excited. We bought some stuff for it this weekend, and I convinced my boss to let me go home whenever it shows up. :D

So, Saturday we ended up with:

Wii Play (simply for the extra remote)
Metroid Prime 3
Super Mario Galaxy
Transformers: The Game (that one's purely the hubby's choice)
Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn
Extra nunchuck
Strategy guides for SMG & MP3
Pre-order for Brawl

Feh, I caved.
December 19, 2007

Ebay is the devil.

One Wii, new in box with Wii Sports, sales receipt and all that jazz: $295 + $36 shipping, UPS ground. Seller has 100% feedback and is fairly close so I'll have it next week sometime, most likely.

More than retail, but better than I'd hoped for. Now, to pick up some games. I'm planning on getting Super Mario Galaxy & Metroid Prime Corruption this weekend. Any other suggestions?

Dammit, now I REALLY want a Wii.
December 18, 2007

I went to Best Buy with Mom last night because she wanted a Zune case. Hubby was home in bed, and we were on our way up to see my dad, who had just had surgery Friday.

I ended up picking up Tekkaman Blade series 3 in Japanese, mostly for the "missing link" episode to connect TB & TB II. There was also an unoccupied Wii demo with Super Mario Galaxy.

Mom says, "Come on, you've got to try it out."

Yeah.

5 minutes of playing, totally clueless, and I want a Wii so bad I can taste it. That also, of course, tells me that SMG lives up to the hype, if after 5 minutes I'm in MUSTHAVEARGH mode.

Umm.. yeah.
December 17, 2007

Just found out, via Comingsoon.net, that the Dragon Ball (although another site says it's DBZ, the synopsis seems to be the former) live-action movie is slated to release August 15, 2008.

I'm guessing it's going to be 90 minutes of waiting for something to happen while the leads exchange such witty banter of "You'll never get away with this!" and "Just try and stop me!" followed by a really big explosion.

I predict the fanboys will love it.

And that my husband will drag me to see it on opening weekend. *weeps*

Gaming progress halted.
December 17, 2007

Kinda difficult to play anything when A) you're right-handed and B) you seem to have strained your arm muscle. Have no clue how I did it unless it's the combination of having to stretch my arm out to reach my mouse for a bit at work until they got me a new mouse tray and sleeping on it wrong, but it hurts.

However, I did get back into Tales of Eternia this past weekend, only to have Volt hand me my ass. I need to either level grind, reset my party AI or both.

He has a LOT of HP, dammit!
