Developer and publisher Ludogram today revealed Heroes Never Die, its forthcoming strategy-RPG. The game is billed as a single-player, fast-paced survivor-like (that's a new one on me) with a strategic twist.

Due to release sometime in 2027, the title fuses survival standards with tactical, real-time army building. Throw a fantasy skin over the top of all of that and you definitely have my interest, Ludogram. Oh? What's that? You already did that? Well, consider me intrigued.

Players start their Heroes Never Die run by choosing a fantasy hero, who they will use to lead the charge against not only hordes of monsters, but also rival heroes. Who, I'm sure, totally had it coming. Those rats!

In total, there will be 20 different heroes. Each of them will possess their own skills. As they work, the player will be able to further develop the town from which their chosen hero hails. They'll also deal with four factions and more than sixty different units. The hope is that no two runs will ever be quite the same.

"We’re delighted to finally announce Heroes Never Die, a project we’ve been working on in the shadows for a couple of years," said Edouard Gaudel, Creative Director at Ludogram. "We cannot wait to see our first players fighting hordes of monsters, and evolving their armies while meeting our heroes. Don’t forget to join our upcoming Playtest!"

As noted above, Heroes Never Die is due sometime in 2027. As for the playtest Gaudel mentioned, it's fast approaching and you can sign up for the private event on Steam.
