Marvel Cosmic Invasion will receive new DLC later this year, titled The Siege of Castle Doom. Today, its publisher issued a press release and a new trailer to tell us all about it.

Due on Nov. 10, 2026, The Siege of Castle Doom will include a "thrillingly high-stakes challenge" that tasks players with overcoming Victor von Doom's stronghold before he can activate the Cosmic Inductor. Because that would be bad.

I haven't played the game myself, which is developed by Tribute Games (Scott Pilgrim EX, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge). However, it looks to provide some fairly compelling retro brawling, presented with the developer's usual flair. I've enjoyed their games for years, and the Marvel aesthetic certainly doesn't look like it hurts anything.

In the new mode, battles charge the Stabilizer. Created by Reed Richards of The Fantastic Four, it's humanity's best attempt to foil Robert Downey, Jr. By gathering Battery Cells, players can access new perks, but they lose some of their new strength each time they fail a challenge. Successful runs permanently unlock new equipment and events, as well with powerful new modifiers. It sounds a bit rogue-lite to me, honestly. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Besides the new mode, the DLC adds two new playable characters: Susan Storm and Doctor Doom himself. There also are new unlockable color palettes for characters who manage to be part of a team that takes down the bad doctor, along with new music from composer Tee Lopes.
