Reka is finally available in full release, publisher Fireshine Games has announced. The title, which was in Early Access until this morning, is available to buy on Steam for $19.99.
If you're like me and hadn't heard of Reka until just today, despite the praise it apparently has received up to this point, know this: it's a game that lets you build a chicken-legged cottage and outfit it with all kinds of sweet furniture and decorations.
Reka apparently features the writing of Rhianna Pratchett (BioShock Infinite), and casts you as Reka, a young witch who is completing her apprenticeship under the considerably more famous witch, Baba Jaga. A big part of that, understandably, is building an awe-inspiring cottage with convenient mobility.
The Baba Yaga mythology has never particularly interested me, because I can't get over the image of a house wandering around the land on giant chicken legs. It's hard to take seriously as a horror story, or as comic fantasy, or satire, or whatever it's supposed to be. But despite my general lack of interest in such matters in the past, I must confess that this game looks pretty sweet.

Apparently, Reka wanders the forests in search of ingredients, meets villagers, and can use her formidable magic to help or hinder them in their lives. So, it's a bit like your standard adventure game, but with a house that can run faster than you or I. A mobile home with flair, if you will.
Reka is the first project from Emberstorm Entertainment, and is published by Fireshine Games. You can learn more at the official publisher site.
