Maximum Family Games announced a few days ago that a 3D version of Myst will be hitting Nintendo's 3DS this coming Spring.
This 3DS version, developed by Hoplite Research, will stay true to the original PC fantasy adventure, but, of course, 3D visuals will be something those who played the game nearly 20 years ago won't be familiar with. Hoplite and MFG are hoping to introduce the game to a new generation of gamers while simultaneously giving veteran players some more content to check out by adding new landscapes and the RIME Age (a world not included in the original release).
“Myst is expected to be a big hit with Nintendo 3DS players,” said Len Ciciretto, president of MFG, in a press release. ”It takes everything we all know and love about the Myst series and gives it a 3D facelift.”
Myst will launch on Nintendo's 3DS on March 27, 2012. Let's see how the Miller brothers' (Robyn and Rand) fantasy adventure title holds up on the Big N's portable.
