SEGA Genesis Classics heads to Nintendo Switch this winter
The huge compilation made its debut earlier this year on PS4, Xbox One and Steam.
SEGA made a surprise announcement today, revealing that SEGA Genesis Classics, which was released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam this May, will soon appear on Nintendo Switch. The game is due on the platform in digital and physical forms this winter.
SEGA Genesis Classics features more than 50 games SEGA published during the 16-bit era, including classics from a variety of genres including action, shooters, brawlers, puzzle games and RPGs.
If the selection of titles included in the Switch version is the same as the selection in previous editions, as seems all but certain, players will get nearly every major SEGA title, with the surprising exception of Sonic & Knuckles, Sonic 3 and the Ecco games. Somehow, there must have been rights issues preventing them from being included, though SEGA hasn't commented on the matter as far as I know.
