Just before last Christmas, I bought myself a PS4.
Most of the year was Witcher 3, and some other games that weren't as good as Witcher 3. I was playing Dragon Age: Inquisition earlier in the year, and that was good, but Witcher 3 completely blew it out of the water. I played about an hour of the new Batman game, but it wasn't Witcher 3, so I haven't been back to it yet. The same also happened to Final Fantasy Type 0 HD (which really looks ugly for a PS4 game and has that narrow sort of shoebox feel that Crisis Core and other PSP RPGs had - streaming this to the Vita made it a lot more bearable).
I finally managed to finish Witcher 3 in time for the release of Fallout 4. Fallout 4 isn't as good as Witcher 3, but I didn't have anything else distracting me. Except that I stopped playing it to play Xenoblade Chronicles on the Wii, a game I'd owned since it was released in Australia (long before the US), but never finished. Because it's such a huge game.
My Vita mostly collected dust all year, but I recently made a start on Steins;Gate, which is an interesting visual novel about time travel. I like time travel.
On PC, Steam was mostly idling Clicker Heroes, or other various games to drop trading cards. I did play some Legends of the Heroes: Trails in the Sky (not done yet), sat through about 8 hours of the visual novel eden (not done yet), and a few other bits and pieces and false starts.
My 3DS got no use at all... apart from some Streetpass antics.
I bought way more games than I played. I've picked up some PS4 games I haven't tried yet. More money than time, first world problems, blah blah blah.
I'm not going to buy any more games for a while, except the one or two big releases I'm looking forward to in 2016 (Bravely Second, and I'm sure there's something else).
It's time to hit the backlog and either sell or uninstall stuff I clearly have no interest in completing. My 360 collection is huge, but I don't think I even turned the machine on all year.
