Blinx: The Time Sweeper (Xbox) review

"Blinx: The Time Sweeper. Sounds really odd, doesn't it? A cat who can manipulate time? Kinda odd, huh? Well, yes. But it is really fun to play. You take control of Blinx, a time cat, who is on a mission to destroy time monsters and save the princess. Before you write this one off as a Mario clone, let me tell you about his special ablities. Blinx can collect time crystals to give him the power to manipulate time. Blinx: The Time Sweeper. He can pause, fast forward, rewind, record, and slow time like your average VCR. He can also suck up trash to destroy enemies. The gameplay is pretty straight forward, but doesn't really get old. It's a really fun platformer.
Sadly, the game does have its shortcomings. The first is camera control. I found myself in several nasty situations because I couldn't control the camera very well. It can really be a pain, so that knocked off a big .5 points from my rating. The next issue is Blinx's speed. When you need to be somewhere really quickly, or when you need to avoid a baddy, Blinx's speed is really a pain. It seems like he's running through an invisible sea of mashed potatoes sometimes. That knocked off .1 points off the rating. Then, there is the lack of variation of objectives. Every level that isn't a boss level is ''kill all the time monsters.'' That can get to be a little old after a while. .3 points down. The last thing is that there is no inventory. You can only hold one sweeper at a time. This is a real pill if you have the wrong one. .2 points off.
Despite all the downsides, Blinx really is a blast. You will have hours of fun with this one, even if you don't like video games that much.

Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee, may very well be one of the best platforming games you can possibly play. Yeah, I know, another big statement, but the proof is coming. Like a legal case, this review has several exhibits for you to review before you declare a game playable or guilty of gameslaughter 1.

Ghost Recon is one of the best games you will play all year. You're probably thinking, ''Whoah, back up a minute. Most reviews don't start by saying that. What proof do you have?'' Well, the game itself is proof enough.

The average American person has four basic freedoms. Freedom of speech, worship, freedom from poverty, and from want. But one man in the NSA has another freedom...a fifth freedom. He is Sam Fisher, operative of the Third Eschelon in the National Security Administration, USA.
