Independent developer and publisher ZAPERART today announced that its highly anticipated adventure and strategy role-playing game, Nautilus Epoch, will officially launch for Windows PC in January 2027.

Nautilus Epoch follows the journey of Lily, a young girl living on a sunburnt archipelago. Her life changes forever when she discovers a mysterious seashell that links her mind with an ancient being. This connection grants her the extraordinary power to travel through space and time, carrying players across the past, present, and future iterations of Earth's vast oceans.

Melding meditative exploration with deep tactical mechanics, the game challenges players to solve intricate puzzles within a surreal "Anima Space." To restore extinct marine life, players must dive into various marine eras, interact with the memories of ancient creatures, and master unique bioluminescence mechanics.

Key Features of Nautilus Epoch Include:

  • Breathtaking Watercolor Aesthetic: A striking visual presentation crafted from hundreds of hand-painted, scanned, and fully animated watercolor illustrations.

  • Cinematic Presentation: Tailored for an immersive 21:9 ultrawide cinematic experience.

  • Chronological Exploration: Dive through time to alter the course of marine history and revive lost ecosystems.

  • Unique Inspirations: Proudly drawing gameplay and atmospheric inspiration from beloved classics like Chrono Trigger, Terranigma, Ecco the Dolphin, and Abzû.

"We wanted to build something that feels like an interactive, living painting," said the development team at ZAPERART. "By blending time-travel strategy with a deeply meditative ocean adventure, we are creating an experience that honours the golden age of RPGs while offering something completely fresh."

PC players can now wishlist the game ahead of its winter launch. For more information, assets, and updates, visit the official Nautilus Epoch Steam Page or the Official Website.
