Minecraft is the most played game on Xbox Live

Yes, it's currently more popular than Modern Warfare 3.

The Xbox Live activity records for the week of October 15th. For the first time in forever, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is not in the top spot. In fact, the top game isn't a shooter at all! Or even a sports game!

Somehow, Minecraft is currently the most played game on Xbox Live, based on the number of unique users. Yes, it's possible that a zillion people logged on for five minutes, but probably not. Never underestimate the popularity of Minecraft.

Of course, the sure-to-be massively popular Black Ops 2 launches in a few weeks, so Minecraft's reign might not be that long, but considering the only other XBLA game to even crack the current top 20 is the new free-to-play title Happy Wars, it's still an impressive feat.

Rhody likes to press the keys on his keyboard. Sometimes the resulting letters form strings of words that kind of make sense when you think about them for a moment. Most times they're just random gibberish that should be ignored. Ball-peen wobble glurk.
