Uncharted movie gains National Treasure writers, loses Limitless director
The game-based film takes another step backward.
The silver screen adaptation of Naughty Dog's Uncharted: Drake's Fortune has two new writers and an empty seat in the director's chair, according to a Variety report.
Limitless director Neil Burger is no longer at the film's helm, and National Treasure writers Marianne and Cormac Wibberley are re-penning the script for the film, according to the report. Sony will allegedly wait until the Wibberleys complete the script rewrite until choosing a new director.
Aside from the National Treasure films, the Wibberleys have also written Bad Boys II, Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle and the USA original series Common Law. I just imagined an Uncharted film starring Nicholas Cage and Cameron Diaz, and I cringed.
I'm definitely more optimistic for Michael Fassbender's Assassin's Creed film than this Uncharted one so far...
