Well, I just finished up the text for my latest freelance guide that I've written. It's for LEGO Indiana Jones 2 and can be viewed here:

Now that I've finished up with that, I don't have any other waiting freelance assignments. I probably won't seek out any more for a few weeks, either, unless something great comes along. I have too many games to review, too much recovering to do (from both guides and the retail holiday I've just worked through) and too much that I'd like to do on this site.
So in the coming weeks and months, you'll probably see my output increase. I'm pleased to have the guides out of the way for a bit so that we can head into 2010 in style. I'm really excited to have more time to start playing games and reviewing them, effective... immediately.
Well, effective after I get some sleep, anyway.

I've gotten to play a few and they're fun. Still, I do enjoy my good memory of the LEGO castle pieces I got as a kid. I think they are somewhere in my mother's storage area.
I can see what you mean about writing guides. I've strung myself out writing something I didn't want to, and it got in the way of my "other" writing. I also remember how writing reviews once got in the way of FAQs. Priorities change, I guess.

LEGO blocks were one of my favorite things as a kid. There were G.I. Joe figures, video games and LEGO blocks. Specifically, the castle ones... though I built my fair share of space ships with those sets, as well. They really allowed creativity, unlike nowadays where you basically buy a castle and you can't really build anything but castles. The old sets were so fantastic. I wish that they'd re-release them the way they did the old G.I. Joe figures. As with that other toy, I'd break my bank buying, I'm sure.
