And yet Prince of Persia is reportedly one of the best video game movies to ever be released. Sigh. With precedent like that it's hard to hold out much hope for this. I am an optimist, though. I'm always waiting to have the next video game film be "the good one." Those years of Mortal Kombat sequels about ruined me, though.

Note to gamers: when someone shoots you in the face, they aren't "gay." They are "psychopathic."

Worth considering: In the short amount of time in which he's been a celebrity, Fassbender has had a very good batting average in terms of picking interesting projects. And I'm amazed by the guy's ability to show more range with every single movie he appears in. So his name gives me a great deal of hope.

On the other hand, he was in Jonah Hex.

My fear is that, in a year, we'll also be saying "On the other hand, he was in Assasin's Creed."
