About Me:

Sorry, but I haven't yet shared the information about myself that would typically display here. Check back later to see if that changes, or if I instead choose to remain an enigma.

Tomorrow is DS-day!
June 10, 2006

The DS Lite is finally here and I'll be in line to get one. It'll definitely be a nice thing to have for the upcoming road trip. Now...which games to buy?

A little info would be nice
June 06, 2006

If you've been reading my previous posts, you know that I'm going through the testing process for the San Francisco Police Department. I took the written exam and now I'm waiting to hear if I get invited back for the physical exam on the 23rd. Only two weeks to go and I'm still waiting. This is ridiculous. Plane tickets jump up a few hundred dollars inside three weeks, and I didn't want to buy a ticket if I didn't have to, so it looks like I'll be road-tripping this one. It will be a 3000 mile race. At least my girlfriend will be joining me on this one. Now I just need to have faith in my car making it out there.

San Francisco
May 22, 2006

I got back from San Francisco a few days ago, and I am already anxious for my next visit. The recent trip was to take the first part of the police officer examinations. It was literally a reading/writing comprehension test. Suffice to say, it was easy. I finished in half of the time allotted and I'm pretty sure that I found a grammatical error. All I can say is that I better get a good score on it. After that I continued on to fill out a personal history questionaire. This is the tough part. I have a clean background, but I am competing against people with military, corrections, police, and bi-lingual experience. I should find out soon whether or not I get invited back for the physical test in June.

I feel so dirty
May 04, 2006

I had been talking about cancelling my World of Warcraft account lately. I spoke with my sister and agreed to sell my stuff and send her all the money. Unfortunately for her, and my girlfriend, I'm not so sure that's going to happen. I logged in, started talking to some friends, did "one last quest" for old time's sake, and now I'm hooked again.

What is with this game? Half the time it's more frustrating than fun, but I just can't stop playing. It's like a Ronco infomercial. You know it's wrong on so many levels, and yet you watch the entire thing.

Big News
April 29, 2006

I have been absent around here for nearly two weeks to prepare for an upcoming job prospect. My bachelor's degree is in Film Studies, but with the way things are going, I don't think I'll be getting much use out of it anytime soon. I have been sending out 2-3 resumes per week for everything from Production Assistant positions, to video editing positions, and even the equivalent of administrative assistants. I wish I could convince someone to give me a chance, as I know they would not be disappointed, but no one will due to my lack of long-term professional experience. I simply don't have the time, patience, or funds available for more education or to purchase my own video equipment. For that matter, I don't know how much longer I can work at Best Buy for poverty-level wages and remain sane

See, games can be fun and educational
March 24, 2006

I'm still trudging may way through Notpron, and so far I have learned some interesting things about the Paul is Dead hoax, Charles Manson, ascii art, and the European history of candy bars. I never said it was useful information.

Experience needed
March 23, 2006

I am in the middle of yet another job search. Simply put, I am drowning here. Bills and debt are just killing me. After expenses, I am only averaging about $65-100 every two weeks, and that is not including food. It makes keeping up with games and movies just a wee bit difficult.

On that note, I have some advice for anyone who is in college or will be attending in the future. GET AN INTERNSHIP. That's one thing that I never did, and am seriously regretting. I'm stuck in the famous catch-22 of "experience required, but need the job to get the experience." All I want is the chance to prove I can do the job, but employers aren't usually into taking chances. Get an internship and take it seriously, because it just might be your only chance to prove yourself.
