Nickelodeon Kart Racers, an arcade racer featuring favorite characters from four popular shows on the kid's television network, will arrive on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later this year. To celebrate, publisher GameMill Entertainment released a new trailer.

According to the accompanying press release, Nickelodeon Kart Racers features characters from "SpongeBob SquarePants," "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" (I still can't get used to thinking of that as a Nickelodeon property), "Rugrats" and "Hey Arnold!" It will feature 24 different tracks with slime appropriately featured as a theme.

Rated E for Everyone, the game seems ideally suited for kids who will surely delight in seeing their favorite characters cutting one another off on the winding race tracks and using items to gain the upper hand, Mario Kart-style.

Careful attention to controls, skillful track design, familiar catchphrases and vibrant visuals are the elements that can help the game sink or swim when it releases this holiday season (on October 23, to be precise, if the trailer isn't lying). From the brief footage shown, it looks like at least the last of those things is represented in fine form, so now there's just the question of the first three.

Check out the trailer yourself if you would like to see how the game is coming along. It's embedded above, because I think of nothing if not your convenience.
