New Sea of Thieves trailer shows off upcoming content update, Forsaken Shores

Based on the name of a new location the update adds, methinks somewhere there is a freshly stubbed toe.

Rare felt like teasing fans today, as the company sometimes does, and with that noble goal in mind it has released a fresh new trailer showcasing the Forsaken Shores content update that will appear within the Xbox One and PC game, Sea of Thieves.

If you play Sea of Thieves, either because you bought a disc (like I did) or you access it through Microsoft's popular Game Pass service, you'll be able to access the new content depicted in the trailer starting September 19. It won't even cost you anything, beyond any subscription fees you're already paying.

I haven't been keeping up on my looting and plundering, so I'll leave it to a quick press blurb to tell you just what to expect from the new content:

"Forsaken Shores opens up a new, previously unreachable region of the Sea of Thieves -- The Devil's Roar. Navigating this treacherous land brings with it new threats, new challenges and new adventures. Superheated water, burning rocks raining down from volcanoes and exploding geysers are just some of the new environmental elements that will change the way pirates traverse land and sea."

It's not hard to see where "The Devil's Roar" got its name, given how superstitious the movies have taught us pirates and sailors can be. And the movies would never lie to us.
