Devil May Cry 5, the next in the long-running franchise that began its journey on PlayStation 2 with the original Devil May Cry, is set to release in North America on March 8, 2019. The game will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

In Devil May Cry 5, demons are raiding the human world yet again. Seeds of a "demon tree" have taken root in Red Grave City, and hellish monsters are wandering the streets. That's the cue for the arrival of a young hunter named Nero, who arrives with his partner Nico, a weapons expert.

Nico assembles arms for Nero, such as the Overture Devil Breaker. Though it doesn't look like much, the weapon generates electricity that Nero can use to shock his enemies. There also is the Gerbera Devil Breaker, which attacks with tremendous heat that can emanate in a shockwave and deflect enemy projectiles. It also works as a sort of rocket to propel Nero into the air in an evasive maneuver.

Nero also possesses long-range attacks, using the Blue Rose handgun. As usual, players will want to use a combination of attacks to set up devastating combos as they face off against powerful monsters such as the blood sucking flying Empusa and a giant colossus appropriately known as Goliath.

Oh, and Dante will return. He still has his motorbike.

Devil May Cry has been largely silent since Devil May Cry 4 released in 2008. Ninja Theory developed a sort of reboot in DmC: Devil May Cry, but that didn't make the desired impact and so Capcom itself has handled development of this newest installment in the main series. Are you looking forward to the next leg of the journey?
