Paradox Interactive announced that Stellaris, a sci-fi exploration game from Paradox Development Studio, is set to arrive on consoles. The title will be published by Tantalus Media and will appear on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
According to the press release, Stellaris will be the first "Grand Strategy" game to ever reach consoles. The niche genre is known for its deeper strategy, resource management and political intrigue, so fans of that sort of thing who haven't already played the game on PC should be in for a treat.
"Grand Strategy is often considered a niche genre even on the PC," said Daniel Moregård, of Paradox Interactive, "but we believe that while a console audience exists, a game like Stellaris simply hasn't made it to those platforms yet. With the help of Tantalus' expertise, we're happy to take that leap!"
