Joe Danger goes for gold

We're about to find out how fun the movies can be as Joe Danger 2 goes gold!

After forcing fans to endure a great deal of waiting, Joe Danger: The Movie has finally gone gold and will launch on Xbox Live Arcade later this month.

There is currently no word on a PSN launch, but the franchise made its first appearance on that system so a PlayStation edition can’t be far behind. What we know for now is that this will be the last game in the Joe Danger series outside of Joe Danger Touch, due later this year. Sean Murray from Hello Games spoke to Eurogamer earlier today and confirmed as much.

“When we’d heard the news we’d gone Gold, everyone was shouting and celebrating. It felt really sad for a minute, though, and I couldn’t figure out why. I think it’s that Joe Danger is done now. We’re not going to make another one.”

“Don’t get me wrong,” Murray adds. “I think this game is great, the best we’ve ever done and it feels like we finally nailed it. It’s a huge game made by a small team. We owed Joe a great swansong, a game that hopefully people still remember playing in ten years’ time. I hope we’ve done that. Saying that out loud, I just remembered how I should go join the rest of the team to celebrate now.”

If an Xbox.com listing is correct, Joe Danger: The Movie could arrive as early as next week, on September 14th.

Right now, though, the original Joe Danger can already be experienced on XBLA and PSN. If you’re a Trials or retro gaming fan who hasn’t tried the game, make sure that changes. Now.
