About Me: Sorry, but I haven't yet shared the information about myself that would typically display here. Check back later to see if that changes, or if I instead choose to remain an enigma. |
I think that the bottom line here is trust. Gamers and developers need to know that they can trust the console manufacturer to launch what they say is going to be launched. Things don't need to be "perfect" on day one, but the preparations that lead up to the launch date are as important to the console's success as the days after. It is the job of Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo to convince us, the gaming community, that the console is worth rooting for. And unaccounted hype destroys that. When we go our local game store and get the shiny box with "PS3" emblazoned on the front of it, we want to feel absolutely thrilled, without any signs of hesitation or regret. To be sure, the PS3 will succeed but it's how successful that is the question. The playing field has levelled now. Sony will need t
With the recent announcement that Assassin's Creed will not be PS3 exclusive, my hope that the shining beacon of Sony will succeed is becoming dim. The Xbox 360 already has a head start and with all these titles becoming a part of the porting party, the PS3 $600 price point is looking like it's going to cut my wallet and my anticipation in half. The thought of buying both consoles is beginning to slip away and unless the PS3 is able to put its foot down on its own territory, I'm not going to have any trouble discarding my thoughts in the trash. Microsoft is starting to settle in a place in my mind that, well, has never been there before - a good place.
Under the canopy, my eyes swelter limp,
swooning, fuming, drying with the branches, mute
beneath the feeble still of rainclouds. Naked
windstruck hair spills like lukewarm sand
through pneumonia-tinted leaves, cancerous
pallor, of earthen rosewater skin.
My face, rotting in shade, stares frozen
at grey between flawless green, for the petals
of eden turn black to dusty flesh.
Has anyone seen the Roddick vs. Pong ads? I'm not sure what I like more - that Pong is still riveting or that Roddick signed up for it. He is now up the list of cool people for sure.
Yesterday, at night, I was eating some Chinese noodles with beef and gai lan (one of those Chinese vegetables). Covered in a rather viscuous sauce, I microwaved my dinner on a wide plate. I waited for about two minutes, popped it out, and quickly tottered to the glass living room table. Can't miss the 2006 World Series of Poker, can I? And then, as I chomped and slurped down the heavenly food, the TV screen turned to a commercial on erectile disfunction.
Genital discharges. Urinal baggage. Call your doctor.
I stopped eating.
I hate that.
Or at least an attempt at it...

Sheer black curtains drape
his armor. Silver frays
the darkened blade, wrapping
death like tissue. He drowns
in evil ripples, to the rhythm
of innocent victims.
