Pokemon Go (Android)
The last few 10 km eggs I hatched revealed Smoochum and another Magby, allowing me to evolve the latter into my first Magmar. There hasn't been a whole lot to report. Most of the Pokemon I need now are rare or fairly uncommon. I have Voltorb set as my buddy right now, with 33 candies. 17 more and I will have Electrode scratched off my list. My only other interesting tidbit involves an Omanyte nest I found in North Spokane, which should help me get Omastar eventually. Of course, the next nest migration will probably hit before I can evolve, but I figure I'll just set Omanyte as my buddy after I evolve Voltorb. Catching Omies every other day or so should mitigate the number of kilometers I have to walk to get one (it's 5 km per candy, too, which is brutal).

There Was a Caveman (PC)
Defeated the second boss, after swearing my way through the forest. As I stated before, this game's jump mechanics are wonky. I ended up leaping into thorns or pteranodons too often. It didn't help that the second stage features a lot of tight jumps, where you have ledges positioned next to walls covered in brambles.

Alone in the Dark 3 (PC)
Beaten. Ugh. Out of the three I've played, this one was the most tedious. I think I came to appreciate the second game just a little bit more after this one. Don't get me wrong; 2's combat still sucks, but its lighthearted content was more memorable than 3's not-so-pleasant medium.

Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare (PlayStation and PC)
I tried to start the game on PS, only to find that my copy is scratched so badly that it won't play the opening cutscene. Instead of waiting to get it repaired at Trade-A-Game, I just bought it on Steam. I still haven't started it, but I should be doing so soon.

Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius (Android)
Apparently, you can recruit Ariana Grande now. That's..... odd. I mean, what next? Adele? Are we going to go old school and feature Janet Jackson? Maybe break away from pop and offer Dee Snyder or Tim McGraw? Just completed Golzas Peak, and am heading toward Golzas Canyon.

Metagal (PC)
A Mega Man clone that's not half bad. I only qualm so far is that its jumping mechanics are a little awkward. Otherwise, it's a decent title. So far, I've only defeated one of the selectable bosses, Buster Gal.

Tempo (32X)
Your standard cute platformer starring an animal (a grasshopper, in this case). Its visuals and music are well done, but its mechanics are a bit stiff and slow. I've only completed one stage so far. It's bizarre, because I traveled through a giant creature's digestive tract and ended up in a boxing ring, where I fought a giant boxing glove with a face on it. I'm terrified to know where the rest of the game will take me. I appears that one of the next bosses is a pair of headphones with a face on it. I can only guess that the next stage will be something that has nothing to do with headphones, like a volcano or the surface of the moon.

I couldn't even believe you about Ariana Grande, so I went to google for images... She's even wearing that ridiculous rabbit mask. What's her special ability? Forcing other party members to carry her?

Can you imagine the backstory conversations that would result from teaming up with classic FF characters?

"I was a thieving actor who fell in love with a princess."
"I saved my world from a half-alien swordsman who tried to summon a sentient meteor to destroy it."
"I'm a chainsaw-wielding king who owns a castle that can travel underground."
"I wrote and recorded a song about getting banged so hard that you can't walk straight."

Oh I tried to like Tempo, but the insanity just got to me. Fantastic pixel art, but good gravy, does everything have to be moving all the time?

Ugh, I know. I mean, I get it. They wanted to show off the graphical power of the 32X, but did they really need to have such obnoxious backgrounds?
