Halo Anniversary Maps Coming to Halo: Reach

Halo: Reach image

Halo Anniversary, the HD remake of Halo: Combat Evolved, is almost out, with only four more days between it and the Halo franchise's dedicated fanbase. However, this month has seen the release of Skyrim, Uncharted 3, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, and many other great games. Not everyone can justify purchasing a $40 remake in addition to everything else. Not to worry, as Bungie has just the thing for such gamers.

If you can't bring yourself to pick up the full Halo Anniversary game, pull out your copy of Halo: Reach on the 15th and get a Halo Anniversary map pack for the low cost of 1200 Microsoft Points. For about $15, this map pack delivers six new multiplayer maps and a Firefight map simply named "Installation 04."

The new maps include such areas as "Battle Canyon" and "High Noon," both of which are fresh takes on maps from the very first Halo game. Even without buying Halo Anniversary, these maps offer players a chance to revisit the Xbox classic.

That said, don't decide against getting Halo Anniversary just yet. Those who already own Reach and buy Anniversary will find the latter actually comes with a code to unlock this map pack for Reach. The maps themselves are in Anniversary to begin with, but letting Anniversary owners play them in Reach as well adds a degree of convenience that has to be appreciated. Bungie certainly knows how to show their fans they appreciate them.
