Mercury, the puzzle game series that gamers like to forget exists, now has less chance of going unnoticed. UTV Ignition announced today that the latest title in the niche series, Mercury Hg, is available for download on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network. Finally, you can slide your blob of mercury around in high-definition!

Priced at $4.99 (which works out to 400 Microsoft Points), the new title features 60 new stages of ooze-sliding mayhem. Mercury Revolution is already available on Wii, and there are other titles available for PSP and PlayStation 2, but this is the first time gamers have been able to experience the series on a platform that offers true high-definition visuals. Besides that, the game will boast features such as online leaderboards and new in-game challenges that include conveyors, doors and moving platforms.

While announcing the game's availability, UTV Ignition also took the opportunity to announce two expansions. "Heavy Elements" is available right now and features 30 new levels for $2.99 (240 Microsoft Points). "Rare Earth Elements" is coming on the 29th and 30th and features another 30 levels for the same price.

If you've been looking for something similar to Kororinpa or Super Monkey Ball for one of the available platforms, this might be as close as you get.
