Cris Tales hops through time to reach current platforms

The time is right to play another RPG in the JRPG vein.

It seems wrong to call Cris Tales a JRPG, since it was developed in Colombia and not Japan, but the aesthetic and general design principles do seem to be present and accounted for. And whatever you might choose to call it, consider this your notice that the game is available now for PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X and even the Stadia.

Developed by Dreams Uncorporated and published by the indie-minded folks at Modus Games, Cris Tales is "a love letter to classic JRPGs." Players assume the role of time mages, working to save the world of Crystallis.

"Players can use Crisbell's amazing ability to slip between time periods to both aid citizens across Crystallis' kingdoms and perform surprise attacks on enemies," notes a press release issued early this morning. "If Crisbell wants to save her magical world from the evil that threatens it, she must make use of her power to shape varied time periods while gathering allies that will help her in her quest."

Cris Tales is priced at $39.99 USD on Nintendo Switch, and should fetch a similar price across the various platforms and from one region to another. Are you in the mood to do a little time hopping?
