Koei Tecmo talks digital deluxe and Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection
The compilation's digital deluxe edition will include a treasure trove of artwork and music.
Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection is due in just a few short months on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC, and from the sound of things, the version you might want is the Digital Deluxe Edition. Koei Tecmo revealed its sales pitch today, which outlines the oodles of bang you get for your buck.
In case you aren't aware, Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection includes three hits from recent years: Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, and Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge. The included titles are playable on the platforms referenced above, and on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S with backward compatibility.
The special Digital Deluxe Edition includes a 70-page digital art book, as well as a soundtrack featuring compositions from all three games. There are more than 180 tracks in all, the perfect solution for anyone facing the issue of too little ninja-themed music in their apartment.
Koei Tecmo would really like you to buy the game, of course, but it would especially like for you to preorder it and has therefore put together some incentives. When you preorder either the Standard or Digital Deluxe Edition for PS4, you get a special console theme and five themed avatars, whereas Xbox One buyers snag a 10% discount on their purchase. If you preorder on Nintendo Switch or Steam, you will also be rewarded for your confidence, but Koei Tecmo has decided to save more details about that for an eventual Twitter reveal in coming weeks.
Though it might be difficult to believe, Ninja Gaiden Sigma (a sort of enhanced remake of 2004's Ninja Gaiden on the original Xbox) first released way back in 2007. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 followed in 2009, and then came Ninja Gaiden 3 in 2012. That third installment wasn't quite ninja-y enough at launch, so the developers made some improvements and released it again as Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge, which is the version included here.
As noted in the eShop listing, the compilation includes "most of the previously released game modes and DLC costumes for each title," so there's not a whole lot that might prevent Ninja Gaiden: Master Collection from also being the definitive edition of some modern classics. Look forward to its arrival on June 10, 2021.
