Murder Mystery Machine, a noir-tinged mystery game currently available on Apple Arcade, will soon also be available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC (through Steam). Microids Indie will publish the game on the additional platforms, the company announced today as part of the Media Indie Exchange showcase.

"By launching Murder Mystery Machine on new paltforms, we're pleased to allow more players to enjoy this unique and thrilling experience," said Vincent Dondaine, the label's VP. "We're proud to accompany Blazing Griffin through this process, a studio renowned for the quality of their previous games such as The Ship: Remasted and Murderous Pursuits."

Justin Alae-Carew, who serves as Co-Head at Blazing Griffin, also expressed positive sentiments regarding the arrangement. So that's at least two people happy, and probably more will follow.

Murder Mystery Machine lets players join the D.C.A. (District Crime Agency) to help Cassandra Clarke and Nate Houston solve numerous cases. Their investigation begins when politician Frank Daniels winds up deader than a doornail, the victim of an apparent burglary gone wrong. But you don't really believe his demise was as simple as all that, do you? Of course you don't.

Players will investigate multiple crime scenes, using analytical and deductive skills to parse clues and evidence. They'll interrogate suspects and determine culprits, working their way through detailed and varied environments depicted in a classic noir art style. Apparently, the writing team includes film and TV writers with credits in those industries, though names were not dropped.

Microids Indie has been working to bring a variety of games to consumers, and Murder Mystery Machine should serve as the third such title. Its predecessors are the game Fallback, as well as the Kingdom Majestic compilation. What might come next is a mystery.
