Gnosia is a critically acclaimed "sci-fi social deduction RPG," developed by Petit Depotto and originally released only in Japan. A Switch port followed and released in Japan early last year, where it did well enough for itself that now a fully localized version is on its way to North America and Europe next month from Playism.

The game combines visual novel gameplay with RPG elements, then drenches all of that in a bath of mystery and intrigue. You are a resident of a space station drifting through space, living your every moment in fear of the dreaded Gnosia. Someone on board the ship--maybe even you--is the Gnosia in disguise, and each night one of the crew is placed in a cold sleep to keep the threat at bay.

Gameplay allows players to trigger special events in each 15-minute loop, while they engage with "interesting" and "eclectic" characters and encounter random events that build relationships. It's also possible to customize the game and add as many as 14 additional characters to the mix, just to keep everything extra intense and to ensure replay value. It sounds a lot like a game of Clue, mixed with John Carpenter's The Thing, except set in space. What's not to love?

"We are so excited to get to collaborate with Petit Depotto to bring this long-awaited English adaptation of Gnosia to Switch," said Shunji Mizutani, Executive Producer at Playism. "The reviews the game received were overwhelmingly positive in Japan, and we can’t wait for players in the West to experience the thrill of finding - or failing to find - the Gnosia."

Gnosia is already available for preorder on the eShop with an MSRP of $24.99. There's also the official Gnosia site, if you'd like a little more information as you decide whether the game might be up your alley.
