Blowfish Studios is bringing Siegecraft Commander to Nintnedo Switch on September 19, 2018, the company announced today in a press release. And the game is already available to pre-purchase on the Nintendo eShop for $19.99 USD, if you just can't wait to part with your hard-earned money.

In Siegecraft Commander, players construct a network of offensive and defensive structures across a battlefield, until there is a virtual web of stone and steel. Play centers around the fact that every node in the formation must be connected, or else supplies are cut off and things get hairy in a hurry.

Another central component to play is the ability to launch things from catapults: new structures, explosives, cows... all the usual stuff that comes to mind when you think about launching things. It's also possible to buff existing towers in this manner, with magical auras that provide additional speed and strength.

The game features multiple single-player campaigns, each consisting of eight levels. You can play either with a focus on defenses, using knights, or with a focus on offense using the Lizardmen. The tales unfold in a "storybook fashion."

"Whether you want to engage in more methodical turn-based battles or enjoy the chaos of real-time fights, Siegecraft Commander offers strategy fans of all stripes something to love," said Ben Lee, Blowfish Studios CEO. "And being able to play at either pace is a perfect match for the stay-at-home or play-on-the-go nature of the Nintendo Switch."

Siegecraft Commander is already available on Xbox One and PC (as well as PS4), which in most of those cases is good news. It means you can play with friends who may already be enjoying the game on another platform. It's even available on the HTC Vive, if you can believe it... or even if you can't.
