Activision announces Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice release date and collector's edition
Ahead of Gamescom, Activision revealed when you should expect to see Sekiro on store shelves... and how it should look.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is the next big action game from From Software, developers of the likes of Bloodborne and Dark Souls, and the game is coming sooner than you might think. Activision today revealed an official release date of March 22, 2019.
Directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice features a warrior who is attempting to rescue his master and carry out swift and lethal revenge. Players will travel a beautiful but dangerous world featuring enormous castles, fearsome enemies and powerful weapons. It's a bit like Dark Souls then, but with a feudal edge that may keep things fresh.
The hero in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice has a prosthetic arm, which allows him to make modifications to his combat style and defeat foes in new ways as the campaign progresses. The game will be shown at Gamescom this year, where attendees can experience three features in particular: sword combat, a shinobi prosthetic (including a grappling hook tool) and a quick resurrection ability that may allow adept players to elude otherwise certain death.
