"Hello, jerec, and thank you for being a member of the HonestGamers community! Your participation helps make the site better for everyone. Remember that your account lets you contribute reviews, post on the forums, update your blog and even track your game collection on the site. Just let staff know if you're having any trouble with anything, and let's have fun celebrating video games together!"
I was greeted by this message today. I guess it has been over a year since I wrote a review. It's probably been about that long since I beat a video game. It's become less of a priority in my life, I suppose. I much prefer building stuff with LEGO... anything to get away from the screen for a bit.

Fiddlesticks - May 17, 2019 (06:38 PM) I didn’t get a message like that. :-( Show us LEGO pics or no one will believe you. |

honestgamer - May 17, 2019 (10:27 PM) Not all of us can contribute regularly, but I felt it was important to provide a reminder to thank those who do for their participation and to encourage additional participation from others when it's convenient. The more people do participate, the better the site becomes for everyone. Years of other sites evolving and changing their focus have turned us into a bit of an oddity, and I like that. I like what we do here, and I want to find more people who enjoy it and who might participate in the process. So the message wasn't aimed at anyone in particular. It's just part of that process to hopefully inspire newcomers to get their hands dirty and enjoy more of what the site is all about. :-) |

hastypixels - May 18, 2019 (10:38 PM) I must say, it does feel nice to be recognized. That's always been one of the perks of ROTW, so I'm glad to be getting more of that. If Lego makes you happy, Jerec, I wouldn't complain ... I've managed a Minecraft texture pack for six years, and Lego is just the best building plastic ever. Just don't ever - ever - step on them. |
