I wanted the free soundtrack. Also I figure I'll get a 3DS after the price drop (got a nice big tax refund coming up, so I'll treat myself).

Plus Zelda was $20 cheaper than usual. Didn't want to pass up a good deal.

Anyone else ever buy a game for a console they don't have yet? I remember getting the Oblivion Collectors Edition about a year before I bought a 360. That was a bit silly...

	honestgamer - July 29, 2011 (11:06 PM) I had Super Monkey Ball a few days before I had a GameCube, but that was only because the games were allowed to ship sooner than the hardware was once EB Games started fulfilling orders. Lately, I've purchased most systems at launch or I'd probably have more examples to give you. Owning a game before you own the hardware is a nice motivator to get the hardware too.
	JoeTheDestroyer - July 30, 2011 (12:01 AM) It definitely is a good motivator. I had Summoner and Evergrace before picking up a PS2. I liked them well enough when I first played them, though I don't know how they'd fare for me today.
	jerec - July 30, 2011 (12:11 AM) Yeah, Venter. I can see why you would grab consoles at launch being the prolific video game writer/freelancer. You need to have access to all games ASAP. I'm definitely the sort of person who waits for a price drop, though I honestly wasn't expecting the 3DS to drop this quickly. Ugh, Summoner. They made so much noise over it being the first PS2 RPG, but it's still one of the worst RPGs I've ever played.
	Genj - July 30, 2011 (05:59 PM) I've actually never done this, but I may soon. I've decided to buy a Wii sometime this year and since I'm working now, I've been looking for good deals on a few Wii games that aren't so easily found new (namely No More Heroes & Metroid Prime 3).

	qxz - July 31, 2011 (03:57 AM) I've only once purchased a game for a system I didn't have. It was actually in 2005 when I bought a second-hand copy of Uniracers off eBay even though I didn't have an SNES to play it on... ...And, simply because it was Uniracers, it was worth it!
