How sad. The textures don't show up, the game runs at about one frame every few seconds... so it's pretty much unplayable. Granted, my computer is under the minimum requirements, but Wallace and Grommit had the same requirements, and that game ran fine.
Looks like I need a new processor, something over 2.0 GHz, preferably 3.0... probably a GB of ram or more, and a modern graphics card.
How is Jerec going to pay for all this? Hoo boy.

Halon - July 08, 2009 (12:43 AM) 2.0 GhZ was the standard in like 2002 so you can probably find something that will run it for $100 or so on ebay or an auction or something. I would send you my old computer but I gave it to someone else already and shipping to Australia would probably cost more than the computer itself haha. |

jerec - July 08, 2009 (12:55 AM) I'll be going to the computer markets held on Sundays. Can usually get good bargains. I don't know if I'd bother with 2 GHz, since it's not that much more than what I've currently got (1.61). If I'm gonna upgrade, might as well spend more money and make it worthwhile. ...spend what money? >.< |

EmP - July 08, 2009 (02:14 AM) It won't play on my (newish) laptop either. I had to give the review code to someone else. It made me very sad. |

sashanan - July 08, 2009 (02:31 AM) While it's always annoying for a game to not work - especially one this anticipated - to try and run anything below minimum specs is a gamble. I tend to be far more annoyed by certain games not running when I exceed the minimum and recommended specs handily. And when I say certain games, I'm looking at you, World of Warcraft. Yes, you. |

jerec - July 08, 2009 (02:39 AM) Well, okay. After more investigating, my 1.61 GHz actually supposedly does 2.8. I have trouble believing it, though. Still need more RAM... but the motherboard I have means my choice of graphics cards are limited to the really expensive bastards so to get something decent I'd be better off replacing the motherboard. Grrr. Just wish I could go into a shop like some clueless idiot with a lot of cash and buy a package - something with a legit operating system, too. I'm getting kinda sick of XP telling me my software may be pirated. :P Ah well. I'll likely just grab the first episode when it hits WiiWare. PC version is at least the collectors edition, and I will have a PC capable of running it eventually, so it's not really a waste. Buying it on Wii is, I suppose. But oh well. It gives me a month to look into some options. |
