About Me: Sorry, but I haven't yet shared the information about myself that would typically display here. Check back later to see if that changes, or if I instead choose to remain an enigma. |
It is very rare that I post about video games in my blog, because obviously people around here don’t care about them and only care about crappy music. Duh.
Anyways I was just linked to an interview on IGN about the Far Cry game coming out for the Wii. This game was originally released for the PC in 2004, a few months before Doom 3 and Half Life. It was later ported to Xbox, and then to the 360. The Xbox added a few new features, but took away a lot of what made the PC version great, such as the expansiveness and the challenge. It had plenty of flaws, but for the most part it was a good game. Probably a 7/10 if I ever get to reviewing it, but you won’t see that any time soon.
If you haven't heard of this already, read this. People have been creating PC mods for a very long time, and it will be interesting to have something similar on consoles. Finally Microsoft is allowing small developers to do this.
I'm not entirely bored of games yet, but I see what they mean by people are running out of ideas, especially with PC games (all we see are FPS, Strategy, and the occasional RPG/MMO). I don't know how far people will go with this, but it could be something great. One of the great things about PC games was being able to play all of the user-made mods. This could be huge for consoles if console gamers are willing to go somewhere with this.
